Neil Strauss’ story is a typically American one. In fact, it has Hollywood written all over it. On top of that, the guy has interviewed some of the top musical acts: Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson, Dave Navarro, Britney Spears. Heck, he even got Spears’ phone number! (But never called her.) He’s written books, including the #1 international bestseller, The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists. Overall, not a bad resume for a guy who’s only in his thirties.

So who is Neil Strauss? Right now he’s considered the #1 pickup artist in the world. He goes by the self-selected pseudonym of “Style”, and anyone who is even remotely familiar with the seduction community will tell you who Style is. In the world of mPUAs (Master Pick-up Artists to the uninitiated), he is inspiration to millions of horny guys across the globe….and hope for many more.

One of the easiest ways of starting an online business and earning quick profits is through affiliate marketing. With no website to develop, no product development to achieve, no refunds or customer problems to deal with, this is by far the most effective way of developing your online presence.

If you already have your affiliate products and you’re working at making more sales, an increase in commissions is the obvious goal of everyone. With more and more products hitting the online market, it’s essential to follow some simple yet crucial steps. So what are they?

If you want your affiliate program commissions to take off, literally overnight, these are the steps you need to seriously consider;

1. Do your research and check out the programs you’re thinking about promoting. It’s pretty obvious that you only want to promote a product that will give you the maximum paycheck in the shortest possible time.

The main factors to consider when doing this are obvious when you stop and think about them, but more often than not, are not fully considered before putting your time and money into making your product pay.

Give information that’s not only free, but useful. When you do this, if what you give away for free is good, people naturally expect a great deal more from the bought product. Make recommendations about the product within the report if you can, and try to give just enough information to make people need the actual product.

2. When giving away free reports or ebooks, save and collect, at the very least, the name and email addresses of all those who download your gift. It’s now widely known that very few people make a purchase on their first introduction to a product.

This is where an autoresponder is invaluable as you can create a whole series of follow up messages to send to these prospects to entice them into buying your product. Anywhere between 6 and 10 messages are needed to finally clinch the sale, so automate this process and capitalize on the free report.

Once you have these prospects details, they are yours until the person unsubscribes. This means that you can send them information in the months ahead about other products you’re promoting, long after they’ve bought the original item.

If you develop an ezine, you are in a perfect position to send more valuable, and occasional free, information to these prospects who now value you as a source of knowledge and useful recommendations. 3. Never underestimate the power of negotiation. Be prepared to haggle with a seller whose goods you wish to promote. Be bold and you could find yourself receiving a greater slice of the pie for all your advertising efforts. Don’t be greedy but be fair and you will be respected for it.

4. Use effective advertising techniques. ‘Pay Per Click’ will give you the most immediate results if you do your research right. Naturally, Google’s Adwords and Overture are the places to start, being leaders in the online PPC field. But, look around and research the smaller players who offer cheaper rates to a smaller audience. These include; ExcelSeek, JumpFind, LookQuick to name just three.

Because of many opportunistic scamsters, MLM (Multi Level Marketing) is looked upon more as a scam than a legitimate business. MLM does not really mean scam. It’s quite a legitimate business if you choose the right company, and you can certainly create multiple streams of passive income if you do it right. If you do not have any experience in MLM and wish to consider it seriously, you have to do some research before you jump into it. I would recommend the following tips to start off:

1. Get acquainted with the ins and outs of MLM. Visit MLM discussion forums, read what others are saying, what is making them money, what is not converting, what is identified as a scam, etc. Read articles and ebooks on MLM, understand the concepts of downlines and matrix; basically get the hang of the MLM business.

2. Next, make a list of prospective MLM companies you wish to join based on your research, their market standing, their ability to fulfill your goals, their supporting your country, their compensation plan, their bonus revenue pool, your interest in their products, your ability to market their products, etc.

3. Now is the time to select your upline. Choose a good leader carefully, one who is willing to work with you and support you till you can manage yourself. When you’re first starting out, it pays to have someone who can support and motivate you.

4. You have to understand that you need to leverage at least one or more of three things to succeed in network marketing - your own time, money (to generate leads) and resources (hard work). 5. Your business will take time to reach the goals you’ve setup. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day; and neither will your MLM business. But since piling people is a race in this business, just signup and reserve your position before you do a detailed due diligence.

8. Always join companies that have some real rock solid products, keep away from the junk. This way, you don’t have to sell the sizzle (hype), just the steak. The key is to join the right program at the right time with the right people, continue to re-invest a part of your income in self improvement and other programs, and form co-ops with others.

9. Branding is a very important criteria in the MLM business. Maintain a habit of putting your name with every promotion you do. Once you’re known to promote only reputed and decent products, people will listen to you and also join every program that you promote. This is called “Branding Your Name And Breaking The Bank”!

10. Its 100 percent legal to form 2, 3 or more companies; signup from one company, put your second company below it, put your third company below the second, so on and so forth, depending upon the number of levels the MLM allows. Just ensure that you have separate tax IDs for each of them. This way, you just need to promote the bottom (last) account and you get paid on multiple levels! This is good if you plan to do business in a big way. While the initial cost of setting up companies is high, you can continue using them for each new MLM Company you join. Some MLM companies even offer you the opportunity to buy multiple positions when you first join them, which can even double your income.

Simplest would be to delete all of the <br/>

If you wanted to improve the usability of your form you might want to add label tags to each of your labels. For example: <label for="number">Enter Employee Number:</label>

If you do that, users of your form will be able to click on one of the labels and the associated input will be activated.

BTW, there should be no "," in your table tag, and your document is missing the head section and the required title. A check with http://validator.w3.org/ would probably be in order.

Every website owner/operator is familiar with affiliate programs, we all belong to one or more, or have at one time, and display banners and buttons on our websites offering anything from a credit card to viagra, Which is completely fine for attracting perspective buyers to products that your affiliate sponsors offer. There’s no crime in earning a little revenue to support your website and your hard work designing, developing and supporting it.

But if you’re like me at all, you have a few domain names sitting around doing nothing too. It occurred to me that having the domain names listed for sale has generated little or no revenue, but every year I renew them because I think that they are good domain names and have marketing potential if put into the right hands.

So I decided to do a little research and find out what affiliate programs were out there that offered more than buttons and banners, and I found that there are a number of affiliate companies that offer RSS feeds and Data Feeds and even some offer complete “Turn-key” websites already built for you, download an asp or php version of the Turn-Key site to put on your own server and you’re good to go. Point your domain name to it, and you’re offering a service or product that people have a use for, just go about your normal marketing practices for the site(s).

So I looked at what domain names I owned and wasn’t using, thought about what types of affiliate programs they would lend themselves to, which in my case was easy, and I did some research. I had 3 domain names reserved and no websites for them, http://SongOasis.com, http://Gear-Junkie.net and http://ArtistMatch.com. They were at one time active websites but hadn’t been in service for quite some time, so considering they were domains pertaining mostly to music or media, I started my search there. I discovered that there were more than a few music based affiliate programs available which required an investment in time doing a little digging through.

I narrowed my search to those affiliate programs offering “Data Feeds”. These are feeds that come in the form of XML or RSS feeds, as well as Text or CSV files that the affiliate would make available to you to download and use how you see fit, with some restrictions of course. Researching those affiliate programs I found that these feeds would provide all of the information, or at least much of it to the same extent as the affiliate website themselves. Which to me meant that I could build a dynamic website offering some great things in a way the I controlled without having to maintain an inventory or process payments or handle returns and deal with any billing issues should they arrise.

So… I decided for my http://Gear-Junkie.net domain to go with musical instrument sales through http://Zzounds.com, and offer over 4000 musical instruments online. Being a musician myself, this sounded appealing to me. For http://SongOasis.com I went with a great program from Rhapsody which offers real time feeds in xml format so my site is updated everyday with the latest artist and music releases everyday with no additional work on my part after building the site. And Finally for http://ArtistMatch.com I went with an affiliate program by http://CDUniverse.com. This program provided Data Feeds for over 40,000 items where you can shop online for music CDs, movies and games.

I’ve also cross referenced each of the sites with my own banners promoting the other sites from within my sites so that visibility to all of the affiliate programs is blended throughout the 3 websites which is helpful in generating sales if not traffic. So if you are sitting on a few domain names and would like to put them to work for you, try researching some of the affiliate programs out there that offer these type of data feeds and see if you can use them to your advantage as well.

Been cruising the ‘net looking for that one great program that will allow you to roll in dough, quit your day job, and finally be able to concentrate on your music, art, poetry, or nineteenth-century ballroom dancing?

Can’t seem to get enough of the recycled royalty-free jpegs showing wads of cash, happy faces, and fast cars?
Then you’ve probably seen one or two or maybe a thousand new, secret, exclusive, and/or “incredible” systems that will allow you to realize your dream.

Now there ARE ways to make money online. But much of what is out there for free, is often what you’ll find in the secret systems.

To expound on that point, internet marketers repackage information that is widely available, add their own little (often times insignificant) twist on it, and sell it to you at the incredibly low price (till midnight tonight only!) of $49.95. Often times these involve some chintzy software, php scripts, or e-book whose true purpose is to drive traffic to the marketer’s affiliate links while he teaches you the “scoop” on how to be an online millionaire.

I know that the above is a rather cynical and sweeping judgment, and who knows, you may find someone who has a heretofore unheard of take on affiliate marketing that’s combined with Adsense clicks that may work for you.

But do you really need that someone?

Think of all the free advice you can get from the thousands of free article sites on the web (many use these for content on their own sites, but it’s astounding how much free information you can pick up yourself!).

Think I’m just trying to kill some competition? Well, on my way up the ladder, I tried a couple of these systems myself. One relied on page generation software (programs that produce keyword-heavy pages of nonsense), the other on a combination of affiliate marketing (of their own program) and a php script for “free” traffic. Neither had solved the problem of getting traffic to the appropriate pages, and I had both refunded.

Be a little creative! Think it through! Try some affiliate marketing, write some articles and get your feet wet. If you’ve got an analytical mind, tackle Adwords The more you do, the more ideas you’ll get and you’ll discover on your own how to work these techniques together. Certainly, some guides are better than others and someone out there may explain it to you in such a way so that it all clicks. But if he or she is trying to sell you a “secret,” don’t believe it.

One final thing to mention is this. Something we almost always see in the sales copy of these products is the prospect of having “inside information,” and it can be VERY seductive. The thought of having some secret to uncover is almost irresistible, and the relatively brief history of the internet has shown that we’ll pay thirty to fifty to a hundred or more for it. It’s easy to fall for this (again, I bought two of them!), so don’t be too distressed if it’s happened to you.

On the other hand, learn from your mistakes! Invest in some solid educational material and work at it. Chasing rainbows and looking for that one elusive secret will only drain your bank account and leave you with shattered dreams.
