Starting Up your Website

Many of us have been creating websites in their teens. Some of us just recently started. This article is for those who didn’t have time to design or building websites. Web designing was first introduced to me by my friend. I started designing and developing websites at 19 doing websites for friends then for students who needed help with their web related projects. When I have built up a bigger portfolio, I started to gain clients. You can also do this. You would need.

1. Domain Name – A domain name is a text that corresponds to a certain IP address on a computer on the internet.

Register a domain name that is very easy to remember and related to your website subject. There are many registrants on the web like godaddy.

2. Web Hosting – A host is the computer on the internet where your files reside. They are accessed by and IP address or of a domain name. There are many reputable web hosts on the internet. Hostgator and PowerVPS are two of those that I have tried and have had very nice experience with.

3. Website content – A website might be categorized if they are dynamic or not.

HTML is hypertext markup language that is static. The source must be edited to make any changes to the content. There are also web scripting languages like PHP, ASP and JSP, etc. They are programming languages that can be used to create dynamic content. They are used to connect to databases on the hosts. These are the things you need to build a website. All you need now is how to market your website. Check often for articles about website marketing or join my webmaster forum. Good luck building your websites.

How do you make your own website for starting a business?
My mum really enjoys looking at accommodation for holidays and I think she could make a great career out of it if i could set her up her own website for it. Trouble is, I don’t really know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There’s packages for doing this sort of stuff online; GoDaddy offers you a few options when you buy a domain from them. The trouble is, their systems use lots of cookie-cutter templates that look super cheesy and pre-packaged.

I would look locally in your town for some web design shops who can give you something custom and help direct you on your next steps. Or, if you’re the DIY type, there’s plenty of tutorials online for learning HTML and CSS.

    Good luck!

You’re right, travel is a great little niche that can make you money online. However, it’s a really competitive market. I would start with a niche that’s easier to conquer.

I wrote a free ebook that’s called “Your Profitable Online Biz Guide”. It’s a step by step ebook that tells you what’s involved with having a website and how to start. You can pick it up here and oh, it’s free! http://www.simple-internet-strategies.com/internet-marketing-ebook.html .

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

I would suggest looking at BuzzHub.com. They allow you to create a simple profile or mini-website which is search optimized. It is designed to help local businesses promote their word-of-mouth network.

A business encourages its customers to post reviews on Buzzhub and BuzzHub gets those reviews to show up on the web in search engines and their BuzzHub profile. They also link with Google Maps. It’s pretty inexpensive and there is a free trial. My friend uses it for his restaurant. You can read an article about this at the Huffington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/russ-edelman/psssst-now-more-so-then-e_b_136807.html

    Good luck!
