which is easier to learn ColdFusion or php im starting a programming degree soon in the fall ?
Once you know programming, they’re both about the same. The major differences are that CF code is shorter, but PHP is free.

Go for PHP. People don’t generally use Cold Fusion anymore. Guitar Center’s website uses it still I’m pretty sure. More than half of the websites on the web are run on PHP because it’s an easy to learn language and it’s free to use. If you need a PHP editor go to http://intype.info/home/index.php
Edit: Ok, someone please tell me what in my answer was wrong and why I got a thumbs down. It’s true that people don’t generally use Cold Fusion when they could use PHP or ASP.NET.
